Lightcraft Workshop Fader ND Ultra Mark II Adjustable Neutral Density Filter

Description:
The Fader ND ULTRA originally has been designed for TV stations in a sun eclipse video recording mission. The Density of this ND-Filter can be adjusted between +9 and +12 f-stops. Density changes when filter is rotated (similar mechanism to a CPL filter). In this way it combines several ND-Filters, so that you will need just one ND Filter instead of many.

The Fader ND offers a great number of applications. E.g. you can use a long exposure time to make the pedestrians in front of a building "vanish".

To avoid vignetting, the filter has a larger front glass, e.g. a 77mm Fader ND has a 77mm rear thread and a 82mm front filter thread. This is why Fader ND comes with an additional lens cap in the size of the front thread.

Advice:
Fader ND does not affect the exposure metering, so that you can shoot in P, Av, and Tv mode. However, with higher density it could happen that the autofocus is impaired.
