The white diffuser creates improves the image quality when using a flash unit. It creates a better distribution of light and a soft, even illumination. In addition it prevents reflexions and softens background shadows.

Coloured diffusers for special effects
The coloured diffusers serve the same purpose as the white one. The yellow diffuser is perfect for portrait shots. It creates a warm illumination and natural looking skin tone. The blue diffuser reduces the yellow tint in pictures taken with artificial light.
