Yongnuo LED Makro Ring Flash MR-58

Macro ring flash with continuous light mode for photo and video shooting

Flash light and continuous light with energy-saving light-emitting diodes (LED) for shadow-free illumination of macro shots. The light area is composed of 58 high-power LEDs, whose power can be controlled within 7 levels. In continuous mode, the ring flash is also well suited for video shooting.

Flash with modeling light or continuous light

The mode of the ring flash can be switched from flash light to continuous light. In flash mode, it is possible to turn on a modeling light to focus. When focused by the camera, the ring flash turns on as continuous light (low intensity) to support the focus. Both flash and continuous mode allow using different segments of the LED light (left side, right side or full ring), making it possible to achieve certain effects. Using the full ring macro shots will be shadowless.

Attachment via hot shoe and adapter rings

The control unit is mounted on the camera's hot shoe and the ring flash is plugged onto an adapter ring that screws into the lens filter thread. In this way the ring flash sits exactly in the optical axis of the lens, which (in the macro range) leads to significantly better illumination than achieved with a shoe mount flash. To be able to use different lenses 4 different adapter rings (52mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm) are included. The control unit and the ring flash offer both the attachement of additional accessories via standard hot shoe.

Internal and external power supply

As power supply serve 2 AA batteries, which provide a continuous light battery life of about 1.5 hours. In addition, the ring flash can be operated with an external power supply (3.3 V 1.5 A) by 3.5 mm jack.

Note

The macro ring flash is designed for use with macro lenses. Normal lenses may rotate during focusing, so that the manual focus (MF) should be used.
