Description:
This fisheye converter is perfect for panoramic photography, for indoors and location shots of buildings and for creating interesting effects.
A fisheye converter shortens the focal length of the lens. That expands the angle of view and you can picture a much larger image circle than with a wide-angle lens. A fisheye converter allows you to capture narrow rooms or larger buildings completely. This converter reduces the focal length by 0,25x. That means that the focal length of the lens is reduced by 75%. A 50mm lens becomes a fisheye lens with an effective focal length of approx. 12,5mm.
The rear lens of the converter can be screwed off and can be used as a macro lens.
Fisheye converters cause a barrel distortion. Straight lines that don't run through the centre of the picture appear distorted. The farther the lines are from the centre of the image the greater is the distortion. That's why it's important that the horizon runs through the centre of the picture when taking panoramic pictures. The degree of the distortion depends on the focal length of the lens.
The converter has a 37mm connecting thread that can be screwed to the filter thread of the lens.
A robust metal coating makes the converter especially tough. The lens elements have a high-quality coating. Therefore they cause almost no loss of light and don't create reflections.
