Descripition:
With the aid of this lens mount adapter you are able to attach your Leica R-lenses to every camera body with a FourThirds mount. That includes the camera brands Olympus, Panasonic and Leica.
Old manual lenses are best suited for mounting on modern digital camera. The advantage of old lenses are that you can adjust the aperture and focussing manually, which is not always possible with new lenses. Manual lenses are smaller and easier to handle as they do not have built-in motors. Most are cheaper than autofocus lenses.

Leica R-lenses have a larger flange register than the FourThirds bodies. The adapter ring compensates the difference between the flange register of the camera and the flange register of the lens. So that the infinity focus stays intact.
The lens mount adapter is very robust and holds up heavy lenses. The adapter is easy to screw on and off of the bayonet connection. Due to the precise workmanship the lens mount adapter fits perfectly on the bayonet connection so it is dust-proof.

Application:
First you have to attach the lens mount adapter to the lens. Then you screw the combination of lens and adapter on the bayonet connection of the camera.
The adapter cuts off the communication between the camera and the lens so that you have to adjust the shutter and the focus manually. The exposure time has to be selected from the camera menu.
To disengage the the adapter from the lens you have to press the releasing device at the outer brink and screw the R-lens off.

Information:
You have to make sure that the flange register of the lens is larger than that of the camera otherwise the infinity focus will be lost. You need the compensation lens to maintain the infinity focus, if the flange register of your camera is larger than the lens.
