The dongle has a cable with a 3.5 mm phone jack for connection to the headphone jack of a smartphone. A 2.5 mm jack plug allows an additional cable to connect to more than 300 different camera models.

A spiral cable to connect the Triggertrap dongle to cameras with Nikon MC-30 system connection is included. The connection with other camera models is no problem with a corresponding additional cable. The spiral cable facilitates stowing of the cable, and can be extended to a length of up to 120 cm.

Use your iOS or Android smartphone and use the Triggertrap app to trigger your camera in many different and creative ways. In combination with the smartphone, there are two brand new possibilities to control the shutter of your camera: Timelapse with acceleration and deceleration (Eased Timelapse) & Distancelapse. Many other modes and the use of manual and automatic AF is possible. The app is clearly structured and has an easy to use and well-designed grafical user interface. The Triggertrap application can be downloaded on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Wi-Fi remote release for iOS including group controller

Exclusively for iOS, the latest version of the app Triggertrap can use the reach and speed of a Wi-Fi network for wireless control of the dynamic trigger modes of the Triggertrap app from an iOS device. A Wi-Fi enabled device is connected with the Triggertrap dongle to the camera (slave) while the camera functions are wirelessly controlled on another iOS device (master). The unit for the slave mode can be both an iOS device or an Android device, the master device must be an iOS device. Furthermore, it is also possible to control multiple cameras with slave devices as a group with one master device. If no Wi-Fi network is available, you can use the "Personal Hotspot" function on the master unit to create your own Wi-Fi network (only on iOS devices with 3G or LTE option).

Notes

This new version of the Triggertrap dongle (recognizable by its red cable) works with iPhones, iPads or iPod Touches, which were delivered with a limited volume output (due to an EU regulation).

Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod nano (5th generation), iPad, iPad Mini and Android devices. Requires at least iOS 5.0 and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
