You may also send batteries back to us by post. Disposable or rechargable batteries that contain harmful substances are labelled with the symbol of a crossed-out wastebin, such as shown here. Close to the wastebin symbol there is the chemical description of the harmful substance. "CD" stands for cadmium, "Pb" for lead and "Hg" for quicksilver.  "
