The Diffuser-40 of SMDV is an easy, quick assembly Hexagon softbox for mobile use of unleashed flashguns. The set consists of a one-piece foldable diffuser with integrated rods and an easy to install flash bracket with swivel head.

Fast assembly and disassembly

The six rods of the softbox are firmly attached to the base plate and are unfolded and collapsed in a pivot. Each rod is clicked in a retainer: The diffuser is spanned by six simple steps. Diffuser surface and inner diffuser are fixed to the softbox so no items could get lost. To collapse the softbox, only two levers have to be pressed, and the diffuser can be folded with one hand on handle for transport.

Light diffusion

Even before the light exits through the outer diffuser of the softbox, the inside silver reflector and an inner diffuser provide distribution of light. This results in a harmonious and soft light.

Adjustable flash bracket for different sized flashguns

The included flash bracket is made of durable lightweight plastic, reinforced with metal elements to the stress points. It is attached via two metal guide rods to the base plate of the softbox. The guides are adjustable in height to provide different flashgun sizes. The hot shoe is on a rail which could be adjusted 7 cm to front and rear.

Swivel or thread for mounting on a tripod

The swivel head has a 16 mm spigot connection for lamp stands, and is adjustable for 170° forward and backward tilt. Alternatively, the shoe mount on the rail provides a 1/4" thread, which can be mounted on a tripod head.

Note
To use flashgun with Sony/Minolta hotshoe, a separate adapter is needed.
